MIURA
NO 0509
Miura no 0509 was the first Miura built on the second
chassis. This Miura appeared at the 1966 march Geneva show, without the
horizontals louvres, eyelashes and mirrors. These are believed to be fitted for the Paris show
in october 1966. The rear pipes were first fitted accross the rear grille. Later,
the pipes were located under the rear bonnet. It is interesting to note that the Bertone logos were fitted lower
than on the second prototype, 0862 and later Miuras. 0509 was the car that appeared on the first Miura brochure
with the bull. 0509 also was the Miura that appeared at the 1966 Monaco Grand
Prix with Bob Wallace and Louis Chiron. It was subsequently destroyed in an
accident.

Photos of
0509 in its very first configuration. Note how the car sits high on its
chassis.
Could these have been taken before the final
completion of the car, before the Geneva show?
